I tried entrelac tonight.

I have never tried entrelac in any work before, just as a swatch!

I needed a hat, and found that "the time was in"! Tonight I have knitted a hat in leftovers, from different white yarns. Since one was a bulky yarn, and I had to use three threads at once of the others. I didn't make the softest hat I have seen , but I knew that in advance. The pattern was meant for a thinner yarn, so I had fewer repeats. I could have made "slimmer braids", but prefered to follow the pattern, since it was the first time.

I had to improvise triangles at the top, it was meant that the "braids" should be more and more "slim", but then it had been a "nisse-hat" ;) !! (Nisse:

)When I have weaved ends, I will wash it to get it a bit softer, but I think it is,not great, but OK. But I REALLY liked the Entrelac!

Mirjam, you have done much of that! I am sure others also have much experience with it, and I think I will try more of it!

Well...DH's Christmas present had to rest tonight. (but I have done "the body and half an arm, so it's moving forward ;-) AUD ;-)

I have a project with an entrelac border waiting patiently in my craft room. I should get after it as it is for DGD#3 and they do grow out of things fairly fast. I think I get the concept but have never really done it in a project.

Hi Aud,

I had to look up the term as when I used to knit, I did that, but my Mom never knew what it was called. I did what you have done and looked it up on google.

Hugs,

Nora

Entrelac is a style of knitting that looks like strips of knitting woven together. see:

some are patterns, some are just pictures.
