Knitting question for Dear Margo

Hi everyone,

Catching up on the news this morning, and in the entertainment section, I found this knitting question for Dear Margo. Did someone else post this to the list a while back, or was it another column?

'm not sure how I'd feel about seeing someone else knitting orcrocheting at a formal event. I've been known to knit or crochet atinformal ones, and no one ever complained about my doing it. In fact,it's generated questions about how long I've been doing either, whatI'm making, who's it for, etc. BTW, I'm going to be taking it easy this weekend and think I'll finally get over the SSS and get my second crocheted sock done and a picture posted on my site. I managed to get a nasty sinus infection, so I made no plans, which means I will finally have time to craft again this weekend!

Hi Leah, I think I posted a while back, but it was about the knitting grandma who would not make items for a grandchild that lost things that she made for her.

I always have a project in tow that I do in waiting areas or in the car while the kids are at activities. But I have never crocheted at a formal gathering. I would not feel comfortable doing it. I am afraid that I might give off the feeling that I was bored at their special event, even thought I may very well be! But I do tend to enjoy most of my formal events. I like to dance and socialize.

At work, when it is not acceptable to do crafts, I try to come up with ideas for projects and color schemes and write them down. Then I feel like my crafts are still with me.

Hope you feel better soon.

Diane
