New Pics

Many of you will remember me rambling on and on about that one and only Aran I've ever done. While at my DIL's yesterday I got her to bring the sweater out so I could take new and better pictures of it. The old one in my Yahoo album is pretty crumby since due to bad lighting or something it looks dirty, so I've deleted it.

So without further ado, here are three new pictures of that Aran sweater. And now, I promise to be quiet about it (laugh). Go here, and it's the first 3 pictures

No fair! You and Dennis are tempting me way too much to do another heavily cabled number (I've been eyeing up an elaborate guernsey pattern in an old book of mine).

Given how long the last one took it'll be years before pictures are available. I am keen but first some UFO busting needs ro be done. I've got half a glove to finish to make a pair, some mittens, some socks and a half done cardy on the needles - I really shouldn't cast on another project just yet. (And we won't begin to talk about the mounds of alpaca and merino that need washing and carding or the carded fibre waiting for spinning).

I'm trying to decide whether or not to try another one... but who for? DH would look great in one since he's 6 ft 1" tall and slim - 170 lbs. But that would be even bigger than the one I've done, and I'd have to buy yarn for it, couldn't do it out of stash. Maybe I should do one for one of my teddy bears. (snicker). I have a pattern. =8>D

A now defunct wool shop here used to make teddy bear jerseys as samples of the yarn they had for sale. All these teddy bears hung in front of the shelves of wool - very cute!

Go on - do one for teddy.

Question: What pattern did you use for the balloon bag? I've been looking for something similar but haven't found a pattern I like enough to make.

Kim, I found the pattern at Knitting Central, where hundreds (thousands?) of free Internet patterns are listed. It's the first place I go if looking for a pattern.

's the direct link to the balloon bag, which incidentally, you can sizeup or down to your needs/wants. I made a small one for my granddaughter anda bigger one for me. You can also go nuts with your yarns and colours. Havefun with it!

methinks that was meant as tinyurl but I could be wrong! JM2C, Noreen

(or as a wise man once said... once I thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken!)

...(I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!... LOL!)
