Snail Mail

Yesterday was a great day here, as I received 2 small packages of yarn in the mail. The first 1 I opened was my free Bernat Disco from Mary Maxim. I received the same color, "Aqua Velvet," as someone else, since I remember the reference to "Aqua Velva. My 2nd package was my prize for winning Bingo on the "ClothsforKatrina" group. That was a Peaches and Creme called "Sea Mist. I really have to get clicking (but won't be able to tonight as I have to sew a costume for DD#2 and mail it to her tomorrow, so she will receive it by Monday. What a spoiled brat. LOL)

Hope you all have a good night.

Janise, isn't the Bernat Aqua Velvet a gorgeous color ? I think I'll knit a skinny scarf with mine; what do you plan to do with yours ?

I don't know what I am going to do with it yet. But, I do like the color. I think I will probably have to make something for DD#1 as this is definitely a good color for her. (She's a red-head.)

Janise, that's why aqua or teal has always been my favorite color - I was born a redhead, but time has taken its toll and now I'm a mixture of red and white. So these colors, along with blue and green, have always made up most of my wardrobe.

Bye for now,

Rusty, My mother-in-law was also a red-head. As she turned "gray," she had the most beautiful hair color! At one point, she dyed it red again, and it didn't look nearly as good as it did with the gray. LOL And, by the way, it is my daughter who has the cat "Dusty." Talk about commonalities.

Hi Janise,

Did you get the costume done so DD#2 will have it for Monday?

Thinking of Wooly and the costume she had to make, mine was easy. I finished it around noon yesterday (Friday) and went to mail it out. The only way it was going to get there by Monday was airmail via UPS or express mail with the USPS. Believe it or not, the mail was cheaper and faster, arriving today before 3. (UPS wouldn't have gotten it there until Monday.) DD#2 appreciated the work I did on the costume and thought it looked very good. I don't know if she tried it on yet. It should fit her as it was long on me. LOL

And now I am back to knitting.

Isn't that a co-incidence? Anyone else have these commonalities?

One of my sisters has red hair (When they first moved here from Newfoundland my Mom used to joke that the milkman owned her, until she found out that this town's milkman actually had red hair. LOL Actually my Dad's beard was red... so is Matthew's when he grows it out.) and my house is dusty... does that count? hehehe Sorry, I was feeling left out. ;o)

Just for the record, my oldest sister's hair was almost black and my brother's hair is brown, and I was VERY blonde when I was little and it progressively got darker and more of a caramel colour (mix of blonde, brown and red together) by the time I hit my mid twenties. I eventually went back to my original blonde colour though.

I read RCTY on Google, and on the right side they have ads that pertain to what's on our side. While I was reading Gem's post about hair color, etc., the ads on the right are for "Regrow Your Hair" , "Hair Restoration" and "Curly Hair Shampoo".

Google sure is on the ball - evidently it picked up the word 'hair' several times and wanted to join in with us. LOL

I am so enjoying the posts about red hair and Dusty - he's sleeping right along side me now.

I was thinking about my hair being red and white now - all I have to do is put on a blue shirt and I can be in the Fourth of July parade.

Hi Rusty,

I've noticed that google posts different ads for whatever the topic seems to be. Some of them are real funny.

Gem want some of my dust? I did remove some of it last night though and did my floors with the swiffer.

LOL No thank you, Nora! I actually went around and swept the floors all through the main floor of the house this morning. I haven't dusted yet... but I'll likely do that another time, I don't feel like it today. My dust bunnies are looking at me with such pleading looks "Please don't get rid of us", so they get to live another day or two. hehehe

I have red hair (no white yet - I'm only 25). I happened to be in Boston for the Fourth a few years ago, and made a point of wearing jeans and a white shirt.

Come to think about it, I could have taken a nap in the same outfit ten days later for Bastille day. (You do the math...)
