Sunday afternoon

Every Sunday, the minister calls the children to the front of the church for a few minutes before they go to Sunday School. There is usually a short lesson or story based on that day's Scripture readings. Last week, our minister was out of town for meetings, so I was asked to do this. Last week, I used the text "Love your neighbour as yourself" to show that everyone was our neighbour. If more people practiced this, we would not be hearing about acts of terrorism anywhere.

It's a grey, moody Sunday afternoon in Manitoba, temperature is 9Celcius, with a slight breeze. Autumn chill in the air, so we have the woodstove cranked up.

Somehow, either on the way home from Skate America or just after I got home, I managed to catch the mother of all colds. Now I'm cranky and sleep deprived. DH is sick too.... ugh. We are a great pair.

I'm glad I have something simple like the kumihimo to work on when I feel like it. It's coming right along and I should have the braid finished this week. I'm really looking forward to being able to wear the beaded bag.

This means no work being done this weekend, like cutting, splitting and piling wood for the stove. My house looks like nobody loves it. At least the housework will wait..... 8>P

Shelagh, it does sound like you have a bad cold....LOL, you doing the right thing. Stoke up the fire, and have a hot cup of tea, with some lemon in it and relax.
