Sunday morning coffe: 3/20/2005

Good morning all,

On my second cup of coffee while going through the morning online routine: reading horoscopes, newsgroups and site stats for my webpages.

It's raining here in southeastern PA...suppose to remain like this all day. Wish I had brought wood in for a fire today. :-( Many seeds have sprouted for my moon garden. The moon garden cardigan is coming along nicely. On row 31. I laugh at the thought of all the twisted stitches that I'll someday be pointing out and saying, "This is where I learned to do intarsia knitting!" LOL

I need to run to the library today...return books, pick up books, copy books, etc.

FYI: Mirjam....maybe you can come to my part of the world someday and show your stuff:

Hello to everyone from Texas on this fine day! It is 46 degrees right now, but the sky is clear and it is supposed to warm to the high 70's this afternoon.

I have been down with tonsillitus since Wednesday afternoon, staying home from work both Thursday and Friday. I am finally feeling somewhat normal but still not fully recovered. DH has been great about waiting on me and Ajax, our Lab, has been concerned, too. I rarely become ill, but when I do catch a bug it is usually a whopper. I finally feel like doing some needlework!

I hope everyone else is healthy and has a great day planned.

Take care, BonnieBlue

I'm in the same boat, Bonnie; down with a sinus infection on a rainy day, too tired to pick up the needles. I'm mentally beaming "please make me breakfast" thoughts at DH ;)

My son's hockey game was cancelled so I will be spending the day finishing my afghan. It is a lapghan actually, I am on the second row of the edging. I used a J hook and two strands of cream worsted, doing a v-stitch. I got it done in about a weeks time. I wasn't going to start anything new (still on another complicated afghan) but needed the satisfaction of finishing something!

I, too, will visit the library today after lunch. We have some videos that came in. It is also raining here in NJ, dreary, but at least it is not snow. I am SO looking foreward to spring!!! Diane

Intarsia is very satisfying when it turns out in the end, but the process can be a bit tedious.

I finished 1 of 4 border sections for my tumbling blocks afghan last night, which is all intarsia. The cats were amazingingly well behaved, even though I had little balls of yarn from one end of living room to the other. Somehow, balls of yarn I wasn't even using snaked their way into the working mass. It was good to be able to cut it all off in the end. What I am enjoying most about this project are the unexpected effects of combinations of yarn. I am usually using two strands of a fine yarn or whatever to get up to gauge and it is a constant delight to see how two yarns together can change one another.

The border section has a VERY HAIRY BACK, but I'm going to leave that for now and go on to some needlepoint.

Well, I should trudge off and get some kitty litter today, but it snowed last night, and that task can wait until next week. I think I will go up the hill to look at the greenhouse place and see if they have seeding mats. My garden might be covered with snow, but spring isn't that far away.

Afternoon all!

I've just come in after going for a walk around a lovely lake at a reservoir, and after eating dinner out with Stu. Time to catch up with blogs and the newsgroup.

Spring is definately here this time. The trees are in blossom, and I didn't have to wear a coat on my walk :o)

Bye for now,

Sarah

Hi Everyone,

Gee, it's nice to be on here early for a change instead of almost evening. It's getting near lunch time so will have to think about what I'll be making for DH and I. This afternoon I'll be spending time crocheting on my afghan, then back for another read of RCTY. We are suppose to be getting some snow today and Wed. but sure hope it's only rain.

Hugs,

Nora

Starting my top down raglan in Silky Wool by Elesbeth Lavold. A long term project and my first top down. If I can get the neck right, I think I'll do okay!

Armed with a cup of Chai tea, I can do most anything!

Good Afternoon All

Well here it is afternoon here and I'm finally online. With DH away, I have been out and about and now home for the rest of the day. Usually it's online early and then out.

Now to start working on all my projects.

It's snowy rain here but at least it's above OC which is nice.

Hi Aud,

Just don't overdo it while cleaning. I can't say that I ever got that much of an urge to clean. LOL
