That hat pattern

Feb 16, 2006 3 Replies

The longer I work on this entrelac hat, the more fixes I think of. The ribbed band looks too deep to me (not on Aud's pic, I hasten to add) -- at least the ribbing I've done looks much deeper than the pic on the pattern. The pattern also doesn't say to fold it over, but that's what I'll do on the next one, and I'll also knit in two rows of inside-out stockinette to make it crease nicely.

AND I'll knit the next one on two circs!

If you are interested, I have several patterns for different shapes for entrelac knitting

Lol! It is NOT strange that my hat is different! As I said :

*This time I tried out "my own way", allthough I started with a pattern.*

What I did not say was that my "braids" are only 7 sts.,( that makes the braids less deep , the pattern says 9 stitches in the beginning, as far as I remember) and:

*Here is the pattern I started with; done in the round, (the pattern is)decreasing 1 st. pr "pattern round".* ....This time I DID NOT DECREASE, I think that is better on MY head !

....untill the last round where I decreased with one sts (after that, there were 6 sts left) Then I finished with triangles, (I figured out how I could do them, but do NOT know if that is the right way) AT LAST: one round with 2 together all around, and then the yarn through all the stitches. and: Voilá!!

But I think different yarn makes different result, just now I try it out some cotton yarn. I have started a sweater to my 2yo niece. There were not to much yarn to get, so I am a bit uncertain about the colour. But I'll make it, and then we will see! May be she'll get another birthday present ;-)

AUD ;-)
