Ad: Five Vessels For Your Consideration... - Tink

I've been making vessels since my very first week at the torch. I love them! But handles have always given me grief. And I wasn't even trying to do TWO handles for the last two years. I would have been satisfied with one really nice handle.

Well, I had an epiphany the other night. When I got on the torch, I had every intention of playing around with pink and orange and making some hollow beads. All of a sudden, I realized I HAD TO MAKE VESSELS.

So I did.

They turned out smashingly, if I do say so myself! Four of them are hollow blown vessels. In other words, they will hold an appreciable amount of liquid. One of them is a vessel pendant. I hope you like them!

OMG....Garbo ROCKS!!!!!! That is sooooo sexy. They're all gorgeous, but that one really speaks to me.

And isn't Bullseye plum great????

Thanks, Karen! I'm starting to get a bit more adventurous with my vessels. I do love the shape of Garbo :-) and am planning an entire series based upon women of that era... Imagine the possibilities!

I'm still getting used to the Bullseye colors. I like the plum, but I can NOT get the color to show right in my pictures no matter what I do! Advice?

Thanks! I think the thing I like best about that one is that it has beautifully even, thin walls throughout the body. So when you put liquid in it or hold it up to the light, the liquid/light inside conforms to the outside shape... In other words, the interior airspace is shaped like a 'vee' at the bottom, and it looks way cool. LOL!

Try backlighting. One small desktop halogen would kick it.

Thank you! It's a lot prettier than the picture, in my opinion. I didn't have the camera perpendicular to the vessel when I took the pic. LOL!

I did another vessel last night: Gloria, for Gloria Swanson. It's another elegantly tapered vessel, and SO pretty! I think I'm going to work on Amelia tonight: Amelia Earhart :-) Etched crystal wings....

I'm trying to improve on the Garbo vessel... I love the long, slender shape. Reminds me of the wonderful way women in early films looked in those fabulous dresses... So the latest in this series is Gloria (as in Swanson). I'd love your feedback!

Those really do evoke bias-cut satin Thirties evening gowns! You're right. :-D ~~ Sooz
