I have a baby sitter!

I'm so happy - the girl I've been after finally called me back and asked when she could start! I had talked to her parents and knew they were all over it, but hadn't heard if she was interested or not.

So... I can start getting some regular torch time - during the day, rather than last thing when everyone else is in bed - whoo hooo!!!

Hooray! That is *so* exciting... I remember what blessed relief it was when my friend, who is my youngest's godmother, quit her job so she could babysit for me... it changed my life.

Hi Kalera - I know it probably doesn't sound like a big deal to most people but you know where I'm coming from ;-) Family is 3000 miles away, hubby works way too much... by the time I get a little (and I do mean little) free time I'm too tired to hold a mandrel. At least I've got the jewelry - Luke will sit and bead with me sometimes -he's got his own tub of animal and wooden and plastic beads - so at least I can do a little of that during the day sometimes. But the glass is just calling me!

I'm so excited - she starts today at 3:30 and I have just way too many projects to get done in the 3 hours that she's going to be here. Maybe that's why I'm up at 4 AM can't sleep. Or maybe it's because I all of a sudden have custom orders for 7 jewelry pieces! One I'm going to start now because I have everything I need to make it for once!

Oooh, How'd it go? How'd it go?

One excited mum to another ;-))

I know EXACTLY how you feel... Mum 5hrs drive away and MIL / FIL 8hrs drive away...

How often does your BS come?

Hi Mavis - she hasn't come yet! She comes this afternoon - in 4 hours exactly! Sorry if my post was confusing - I posted it this morning at oh, 4 AM. I couldn't make the bracelet I was going to start because I actually don't have all the beads after all so I went back to bed.

So she's going to come on monday afternoons and friday afternoons - 3 hours at a time - the school bus will drop her off right in front of the house and her mom will pick her up on the way home from work. Once in awhile she's going to stay late just to have dinner and hang out so her parents can have a date night (technically at that point we'd be babysitting her I guess) She's 11 and her family is friends with ours. Too young to leave my son alone with her, but she'll get some good babysitting experience with the safety of me being right out in the garage - and before we know it she'll be

13 or so and she and Luke will be old pros at this and hubby and I will be able to have date night too! It's going to work out great for everyone.

I'll let you know how it goes - it's been two weeks since I fired up the torch so I'm getting antsy :)
