OT: SOB denied me pain meds

I'm not up to writing all about it now, but the pain docs didn't give me pain meds, even though that was their intial recommendation. They called my primary care doc, who told them I have a history of faking (!?!), and refuse to go to a psychologist. In light of that, the pain docs insist that I see a psychologist and a neurologist before they can give me Fentanyl. Bastages.

On a happier note, I went to the Acupuncture/Reiki doc that my physiatrist (nerve and muscle doc) recommended. I got about a zillion needles in my back and legs, which was amazingly painless. I am a little sore from where he twisted the needles, but the spine and muscle pain is greatly reduced. (Odd thing: I was sweating like a goat by the time he was done.)

The Accupuncture doc was incensed when he heard what the primary care doc said, because he tells me it's impossible to fake the muscle and nerve reactions I've having, and he said that I am about as sane as it gets. (he doesn't know me well, but I am not faking) He offered to call the pain doc and give him the straight dope. I'll wait until I go back to the pain clinic and see how he feels about alternative meds before I give the accupuncture guy the go-ahead.

sh*t, sh*t, sh*t.

What total crap! You need a new primary care doc ASAP. And when you feel up to it, write him a letter and tell him what a shit he is.

I'm so sorry, Kathy. But I'm happy to hear the pain is reduced! Yay for accupuncture!

I think we need to get Polly's gators (rctq gal) up to boston to have a serious face to face with your doc. Diana

Hi Kathy.

I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling this bad. :o(

I'm hoping that it's a blessing in disguise, as acupuncture can really do some amazing things....like cure things, and is fantastic for pain relief. I know, you can't pop a few needles when you need 'em, but it sure does help when you can go. We've even found one that comes to us when pain, fever or sickness is really bad.

If the docs are not favorable of alternative therapies I would think twice about my doctor...but that's just me, and it's probably one of the last things you want to be thinking about. All of the acupuncture and herbs I've gotten have never ever interfered with western meds. They're usually very willing to work with my doctors in any way they can...even if they don't always agree with the meds that I'm being prescribed.

Hugs to you.

I'm so sorry, Kathy. I don't know what to say.

I'm glad to hear the Accupuncturist was able to help. I've heard good things about them.

Kathy, I'm so sorry this is happening to you. If anyone needs their head examined, it's your PCP!! You definitely need to find a different doctor because your PCP full of BS and needs a huge dose of compassion. ((((((((((Kathy))))))))))

Kathy,

I just had a horrible thought. Maybe your PCP is contributing to your insurance troubles.

Please fire this guy, he deserved it long, long ago. It is hard to see how a new doctor could be worse, or how starting over with a doctor could be worse then staying with one who things you're lying. You have the two inch thick folder to give him/her for starters.

Dear Kathy,

I'm sorry about those stupid Western doctors, but I'm so glad you're trying alternatives. My Depression has not responded much/normally to meds. Like you are, I was so desperate for relief I'd try anything. Healing arts lifted the curse of my affliction, even if it has not taken away the affliction itself.

Acupuncture works, and I've seen Reiki work, too. Sweating during healing arts treatments is not unusual, and generally considered to be a good sign that you're expelling bad stuff.

Kathy,

Words elude me. I can't understand how your docs won't give you any pain meds and that's all my docs want to do to me. Neither is helping either of us. Grrrrr. I bet Sophie could bite an appropriate reply from your docs. Tell her it's okay.

Give hugs to Manda and Bob. I know they are frazzled too.

Gentle hugs,

I am so pissed right now that the hairs on my arms the back of my neck are literally standing up.

You know who needs a psychiatrist? Your PCP. The guy is a loony. He chooses to ignore the evidence presented by your deteriorating body, and the concensus of every other medical professional who has seen you, an has declared that you have a "history of faking".

I want to bash in his teeth so badly I can't sit still. I HATE him. He should have his license yanked. He should have his soft parts eaten by rats.

I remember you saying that for some reason you can't switch PCPs? So you are essentially being held prisoner by a single incompetent doctor on a power trip who is punishing you for his own issues. Maybe his mom was a pillhead. (With a son like him, I would be too.)

Kalera - Don't hold back now. LOL Actually I am really pissed at him too and I HATE HIM as much. I can't stand this PCP either! Having rats eat his soft parts is bad for the rats. He is lower than human waste.
