I'm not up to writing all about it now, but the pain docs didn't give me pain meds, even though that was their intial recommendation. They called my primary care doc, who told them I have a history of faking (!?!), and refuse to go to a psychologist. In light of that, the pain docs insist that I see a psychologist and a neurologist before they can give me Fentanyl. Bastages.
On a happier note, I went to the Acupuncture/Reiki doc that my physiatrist (nerve and muscle doc) recommended. I got about a zillion needles in my back and legs, which was amazingly painless. I am a little sore from where he twisted the needles, but the spine and muscle pain is greatly reduced. (Odd thing: I was sweating like a goat by the time he was done.)
The Accupuncture doc was incensed when he heard what the primary care doc said, because he tells me it's impossible to fake the muscle and nerve reactions I've having, and he said that I am about as sane as it gets. (he doesn't know me well, but I am not faking) He offered to call the pain doc and give him the straight dope. I'll wait until I go back to the pain clinic and see how he feels about alternative meds before I give the accupuncture guy the go-ahead.
sh*t, sh*t, sh*t.
