Oh yes I have; I was just a lot younger than you at the time!

Ah the joys of puppies!

Spew! I know what you mean!

Ah, but Cash is a lovely pooch. Great instincts too, tried to herd Dson. I'd gladly take either Cash or Harry any day.

You can be ahead of me in the line lol Not that I would dislike either canine, it's nothing personal.

And even if you sent $500, how much of a dent would that make in the grocery bill for millions of starving people?

I want the name of your framer! I paid much more than that to frame a

10x10 piece of canvaswork in a simple frame with no glass. Cost me US$21 last week just to have a mat cut to fit an 8x10 frame (I had the frame, and did the mounting myself, since I'd accidentally cut the fabric too small to lace).

I was ready to give away Max last night!! We had a horrendous lightning show, starting about 11pm, and then the thunder started rolling in. Lost all power, and poor Max ( whose job it is to bark away thunder) was whining to me to hide him in bed with us! What a wuss! Once in bed he proceeded to clean all his paws, and do a pedicure, which involved a lot of leg movement on his part. Gretel had just gotten out of her dog-bed, and hid under ours! Eventually the rains came , the power came on, and then went off again.

So for revenge, I took them both to the Vet this morning; Gret got her shots and nails clipped, and Max just got weighed and acted bored. Got them both legal to take into Canada now.

We go through that, too. Whenever there is a thunderstorm, I have two furballs trying to crawl into my skin with me. Kitty starts by acting like she's aloof and not bothered in the least, but when she realizes how much attention Emmie's getting, then she has to snuggle, too.

Quite a bit, you'd be surprised.

I had it done at one of our better framers, they do a great job with needlework. Actually I thought that was extravagant. As a Guild we do get 10% off, but even so.

I usually frame my own but gold and silver work are tricky. I stitched a needlepoint sampler and worked further down the canvas than originally intended and what I did was stitch a strip of fabric to the very edge of the canvas and laced through that. Worked.

It must be something that is less expensive in Canada. It would have to be very large, need stretching, several matts etc. to even approach $200. I believe one piece done for a friend that was lovely was only about $150 and very elaborate.

Speaking from experience, I've easily spent $250+ for framing in Canada several times. My most expensive piece cost me $340. But (and you knew there would be one), the pieces were large, had suede mats and required special mat cuts. But it was worth every penny to me given the number of hours of time and love I'd put into the pieces. In fact, I loved my framer enough that I *still* send him pieces to frame, let him have total creative control of it and love every one. And I've lived 1000 miles away in another country (the US) for five and a half years now... The price all depends on the molding, mats and size of the piece. Just my 2 cents... Heather

Fine with me. Today he's being a total loveysnuggleboy who is just dying to GO OUT AND DO SOMETHING! He lets me know this by poking my arm and flirting with me. It's quite adorable.

Ya know, ya gotta speak while the offer's good and it's never good for long! *grin* He is mostly a good boy, but never quite as good as Harry Angel.

Bucket might actually tolerate Cash. My cat does, but she doesn't tolerate Harry, which I find quite interesting.

If she feels Harry gets your attention, perhaps that it. Or perhaps by the time Cash arrived, she just sort of shrugged her shoulders - oh another one type thing!

I would think a piercing sound would be a much more annoying sound to the human ear than a dog barking.

How would we get rid of the thunder during the frequent thunderstorms here in Florida if my Puff or Gillian's Maxstopped chasing them away with their frenzied barking. Puff chases it and as soon as it's quiet he comes in wiggling and wagging all of his 9 lbs. because he knows he's done a good job. The only time I've seen him happier was when he caught a lizard and happily brought the carcass to me for praise.

I know he was thinking, "Justmy job mom and I'm glad to do it."

I could have done with THAT last year with our last dog, Emma, otherwise known as "Joyce the Voice". The one we have now thinks it`s positively RUDE to bark, fortunately. In fact we`d had hr for six weeks before we heard her first "wuff". She has a nice musical bark anyway - not like poor old Emma`s high pitched ear-splitter!

You are so right, Lucille!! When the thunder stops, Max comes up tail in full-wag, and ays "Didn't I do good, Mom?"

On a similar note, I took the kids to the vet today. Gretel had to wear the hated Bra (aka harness) while Max just had collar and leash. They were pretty good in there; Gret shaking like an aspen treee. Max sat patiently on the floor, with my foot on his leash.

The nice friend they have there weighed them, and they are BOTH over

18lbs. Max is a muscular dude, but Gretel is dainty. Oh well, they are eight years old,and their food is carefully measured daily. Maybe when they get north with real nice soft green grass, other than the crud that grows in Florida, they will get more exercise.

By the way, Lucille, they send condolences to Puff who has to stay in Florida!! Dear old Whisky's "cremains", what a silly word., are in the RV ready for us to free them so that they may wander where the wind blows in New Hampshire in my FIL's woods..

The temptation is to let the late departed MIL loose there, but I think that would bring on a tornado, seeing that is three husbands ago!!

It would also buy quite a few polio vaccinations, a good pump and filter, a number of crank-powered radios, or several school uniforms, without which students in some countries cannot go to school. We cannot do everything, but we can do something. Dawne
