Oh my, Cheryl,

What the hell happened?? My sympathies are with you a 1000%!!!!

We were having dinner couple of noihts back, and I watched a little kid fall from the monkey bars in the playground (his Mom's fault).. We had the ambulance and police here. Apparently he broke his arm in a couple of places. I promise you, girls are easier! Even Gretel walks around pudddles, whilst Max goes through them all!!

Hugs

Skateboarding

I know mine have climbed to the top more than once

Nah - DD has her share of moments... After all, she's gone over the jumps the boys put up - on her bike... C

Maybe I was easier than a boy might have been, but I certainly wasn't easy. I had a daredevil streak. Fortunately, I also have the balance of a cat, so the only serious injury I ever had (incurred in a nice ladylike game of tennis, not from jumping off things) was the knee injury caused by landing on my feet. If I'd been a klutz and landed on my @$$, I'd've been fine.

Cheryl be glad. I was just hearing about a young lad outside Halifax who was skateboarding without a helmet and now lies in hospital in and out of consciousness and facing brain surgery. It could be much worse.

He didn't even fall at first, just put his foot down wrong. Healing thoughts to the other young man.

And I think DD tumbled to the fact her summer fun is over too. We were planning lots of fun stuff while he was gone and those plans are over. Can't leave him for long. Maybe on DH's next off Friday, we can still go to the tidal pools. C

Ouch - poor thing. Not fun for any of you. Leave him in the air conditioned house with his leg up, and refreshments within reach, and you take her out a bit.

I think this will definitely quash a visit here - as we have tons of stairs!

{{{{{Cheryl}}}}} and the rest of the family. Just keep him medicated!

Not for the next few days. He's still splinted and we have called the orthopedist.

Thanks,

2 of those pain meds and he's fine. The effect of the morphine was almost comical in the ER.

Ouch! Isn't it weird, though, how so many times it's not what you think that causes the worst injuries? My sister, for example, once sprained her ankle very severely - by getting it twisted in the bedsheets! In the meantime, I am glad my kids never got into skateboarding (although DS had a major wipeout on his bike earlier this year that reuqired an ER visit) - it frightens me to watch some of these kids!

LMK if I can help in any way with some stuff for DD to do . . .

Lock up the skateboard.

My cousin's kid broke an ankle, and decided to skateboard with the cast on. Two casts on two ankles at the same time.

Do you have any idea as yet how long he'll be totally off his feet? I suppose not until after the surgery, but I dearly hope it's not too long and he'll at least be able to hop around on crutches.

Stay cool !!
