A 'lift' is what we call an elevator in the UK. You said there was 'no lift to the loft', so I thought you wished you had a lift/elevator to the loft. Then you wanted to know what you were going to make today........

I can just about manage our loft steps (they were chosen specially for me as DH can't manage the loft at all), but when I am there I can't stand upright, so I have a line of old chairs/stools so I can move along by changing chairs - my crawling days are long past. I must look completely stupid moving from chair to chair!
