Yeah....what she said!
hey Alice, welcome home!! yup, everything Pauline said and big thanks for getting back to us soon as you got home. i'm a bit concerned there might be some info on the directory now that is out of date. i wonder if theres anyway whoever volunteers for this could do some rechecking just to be sure it is all up to date. i know i know, i'm sorry, just asking. if ya dont ask ya never know, eh. thats my philosophy anyhooo. ...and breathe!! glad you didnt get singed while in calif. bet theres a few fancy homes smell'n of smoke today. cheers, jeanne
Goodness, that's a lot of traveling. And I thought my job travelled me a bunch. I'll quit complaining now. As for the directory, when ever you get done is fine. Good thing I'm not doing it; crimeny, it took me 6 months to assemble one simple quilt!!
Several folks have been keeping me alerted to changes so I don't think it's so far out of date. I've made a few snail mail and email changes in the last few days.
I'd rather not delay the Directory any more than it already is, but I think if there are that many that surface, I could do an "addendum" page with the collective changes. Would that be acceptable?
sounds good to me. :)
yup, me too. i didnt realize you'd been fixing addys etc as they happened. thanks again, jeanne
Sorry I missed you since I was working in Irvine until a week ago. Maybe next time.

Oh, bummer, that would have been fun. I only had one period of free time before I needed to head for the airport and I made it to PieceMakers in Costa Mesa. Interesting place to be sure.
Good to see you back! Hey, gal, the Directory gets out when it gets out! ME-Judy
Alice, there was never any thought of tar and feathers! We can all sympathize with your time constraints and hope that things settle down for you soon. Gosh, with your schedule, when do you find time to do anything quilty? ;) I'm glad you'll be able to get to the Denver show! I think the people who were talking about taking over the directory were doing so only to try to ease your burden, rather than as a criticism. It's good to hear from you! :)
Which part was LN doing? I know at one time she did the entire thing -- a fact that I learned to appreciate even more when I took it over for her just once. If I can help, I'd be glad to. Let me know what you need, and I'll let you know whether I can do it. :)
Alice, if there is ever anything I can do help with the Directory, lay it on me! Don't know how much help I would be, but I'm happy to help however I can if you want or need it.
Once I get the Directory out, I will describe the process to see if anyone wants to take it on for the next revision. I don't mind keeping the form going and gathering the data, but the second step has proven to be too much for me.
I didn't get your original message, Alice; but I am extremely upset that you should be feeling like this. Tar and feathers? - rubbish! It isn't as if it is our right to have this piece of work, for which you volunteered, for which there is no timetable, and for which we pay nothing. As Judy said, it will arrive when it does, and will be welcomed; but in no way should that be at the expense of your peace of mind. After all the work you have done for the group over the past few years, a hiccup which has been entirely beyond your control should have been entirely acceptable. Most folks' offers of help came from the best of motives, to save you work. Working and travelling for work as you have been doing, the last thing you needed was to return to hints of impatience. You are missed as a contributor - above and beyond the Directory. Perhaps it *is* something which works best as a two person job, with each doing what will fit best into their 'other' lives. Whatever the case, please do not think that we 'customers' in general are anything but grateful to have it when possible for you. . In message , Judy writes
Awwww, I didn't mean to get anyone upset. I am far worse on myself than anyone on the group has been. You guys have been great and patient to a fault. Hopefully, the Directory will get sent out and I may even - dare I say - get a chance to quilt! I have been knitting though since I can take my knitting on the road. I'm not much of a hand piecer so reading and knitting have been my companions. Although, I do listen to Alex Anderson podcasts while traveling so I guess that counts as a quilty activity!
Here! Here! Well written Pat! I wish I had said that.
Alice, Alice! Don't give yourself another 'ouchie'! I only meant 'upset' as in 'sorry'. . In message , AliceW writes
