Great Weekend

I got to spend the weekend in Kansas City at the Doll & Toy Museum. MOKA, which is our quilt study group held their quarterly meeting there. Susan Martin, who collects antique doll quilts and reproduces some of them gave a trunk show on Friday night. On Saturday, Merikay Waldvogel gave a slide show and talk on her book, "Childhood Treasurers - Doll quilts by * For Children". The quilts in the book belong to a woman named Mary Ghormley who has donated a lot of her quilts to the quilt museum in Omaha. Mary gave the afternoon talk on Crib Quilts.

Speaking of Mary Ghormley, she is moving out of her large older home and is having an auction next weekend in Lincoln Nebraska. She will have almost

200 antique quilts for sale. I wish I could go.

Had a really wonderful time. That museum is worth a trip to KC on it's own. I can't believe I've never been there.
