New kid here

Hi! I'm Bibi Jann, an American in Sweden (cuz I married one). Bibi means grandmother in Swahili. I enjoy creating quilted wallhangings of African fabrics. I buy lots in Tanzania - not only cheaper than in Sweden, but fascinating, beautiful and often created by people there that I know. We go to Tanzania frequently. My husband's an AIDS expert and I work with AIDS orphans and the grandmothers who are raising them. If you're curious, you can check out our website at

I'm a fairly new quilter, and a rebel at heart - love creating my own designs, using raw edges, breaking the rule -- maybe math isn't my strong suit!
