Question about Webshots

Is it just me? Whenever I visit Webshots my mouse gets herky-jerky, it takes a long time to load photos, going back and forth takes a long time. They all eventually load, so it isn't missing software. I have come to detest them!

I don't have this problem with any other website, including flickr, so I don't understand what it is about webshots.

Neither do I. I have not heard of that problem. I wonder what browser you are using and if there is a compatibility issue there.

as Trixie is using Outlook Express i'll guess she is also using Internet Explorer as her browser, both come loaded in windows. i use both as well and dont have the herky jerky with mouse. i wonder could the mouse need some attention? if it has a ball, is that in need of a clean or if a light, is there some dust gathered under there or could be the mouse is wearing out, oh no then it would do it on all websites, hmmmm. what else??? (thinking outloud here, lol). hey Trixie, have you tried downloading the webshots program that is much easier to upload and edit the pix in your folder. it is free and easy to use. right now i'm busy downloading some windows updates (take'n me ages, argh) or i'd find the link to it for you. it should be easy to find from their homepage tho. anyone else got the link? rearranging, editing, uploading and removing pix with the program is soooooooo much easier and faster too. might also eliminate that herky jerky business, lol. :) just my thots off the cuff as i wait for slow downloading of stuff i need on this puter to get moving properly again. hope that helps, j.

Based on the description of the problem I would be more inclined to guess at the stream than onboards. Site specific problems are not software related very often anymore. DH views webshots with a spanky new version of firefox, and I view it with a decrepit old version of IE, neither of us has trouble with it. If it was a cat hair in the mouse it would show up on more than one site, and would not affect load time.

It could just be that comcast routes stupidly to webshots, or that Trixie's specific location routes in a round about meandering sort of way. Another possibility is that somebody griped about content on a webshots page, and her local comcast branch forces everything from there through a filter now. That happens a lot with photo sites, and can definitely slow things down whch in turn makes them herky-jerky.

I too usually find Flickr loads quickly and Webshots is very slow to load (though today it is being OK). BTW I am using Firefox 2.0 and Windows XP on a DSL line.
