Quilt pics up

There's been another catergory added to the beading and dancing section of our web-site, Quilts! The photos ain't real clear 'cause of the angle thet were taken at, but it gives some idea of what it looks like.

Love the quilt Melinda - well done!

Melinda that quilt is great -- so simple and yet so complicated. Trying to layout the HSTs would drive me nuts. I know they would take on a life of their own and ruin the design.

And with a baby to tend as well!! Congratulations

It looks great, Melinda. Isn't great to get things finished? And I love the baby pix too. Got a kick out of the spare parts page! Gotta love the hubby's hobbies, huh?

Hi Melinda! I love the quilt! Especially the way you paired the black squares. It looks neat and sounds like your DH really appreciates your work on it. Congratulations!

Elena doing a belated happy dance for you.

Great quilt!! Thanks for the reminder of what wonderful things can be done with simple (meaning, easy for me to cut correctly ;-) pieces!

They did! In the end I gave up trying to keep any sort of regularity to the HST's apart from placing colours and just kept the pattern of the squares going.

Most of it was done while pregnant, I actually got the top finished and delivered to my aunt the Monday before Joshua was born!

No real pattern really, just based on a combo of Jacob's Ladder and a variation I saw a picture of in one of my quilting books. The material is all fabric scraps from garment sewing.

Yep, it's my car he's trying to work on! I'll be glad when it (and the bathroom and extentions to the house) are finished!

I haven't even seen what he put up yet! He wouldn't let me see. BTW the pairing of squares isn't just on the black ones, it's all of the squares.

The pattern was simple enough to reduce the size, I was working in rows thankfully.

Joshua's got a bit of dutch in him (my DM was born there, the family left Holland when she was about 6) so he might have a dutch jaw line, I don't think we'll be able to really tell until he starts getting teeth.
