Thanks Julia. Maybe you could ask to see some samples of the LQS's quilting so you can see what you will be getting on your quilts. Make sure you see the work of the oerson who will be quilting your quilt. Some LQS' have more than one machine quilter on staff. I have had some good experiences and some bad experiences with having my quilts quilted. I have learned to ask to see the quilter's work before I even mention to them I am looking for machine quilting services. I'm so sorry you had a bad experience with the quilt that you mailed out to be quilted. That's heartbreaking to work so hard on a quilt only to have it "dissappear". Maybe you could ask some of the experienced machine quilters in this group to email you privately to talk about having your quilts quilted. It might be more comforting for you to have a quilter you "know" work on your quilts.

And I have another customer waiting for me to quilt a quilt that her mother pieced. Her mother passed away several years ago, so I know how much this quilt means to her. I'm honored that she asked me to quilt it for her. I'm just waiting for the thread I ordered so I can quilt it for her!

Yes, I think it would, Karen. I designed gardens for ten years, and I built up a book of 'before' and 'after' pictures of clients' gardens to show potential clients. It really did help. People find abstract visualising rather difficult.
