Freaking Out!!!

I never hated Friday the 13th till today! I was out running errands today and as I turned into an underground parkade I cut the corner too close and scraped the side of the van on a pole! It's not dented but it's really scraped bad almost a 2x1' mark! Hubby will flip and it was totally my own fault! Then when I got home I noticed that my dog dug up some of my bedding plants! I should of stayed in bed today! Barb:o((((

I'm sure your hubby will be more concerned about your well being than the car. It could have been much worse.

I totally forgot it was friday the 13th (that's what I get for my Friday being your Saturday so for me it is a thursday). I ran into CVS to pick up Larry's Thyrod medicine and ran out only to find a commercial truck parked so close that a skinny teenage couldn't fit into my car to start it up. So I ruined his weekend by having the local precinct tow it. The truck belongs to a residential home and the parking lot is clearly marked "for CVS customer's only. All others will be towed."

Good for you! Yes hubby was more concerned about us than the van. I just feel so stupid for not being more careful! Barb:o(

Maybe the scrape will be less noticable if you use some rubbing compound. As for the hubby you are doing something wrong if you have to worry about what he is going to say, he should fear opening his mouth and saying anything other than "well you are okay and that is all that matters" or "this must have been terribly upsetting for you so why don't you go relax and let me worry about it". If you need lessons, I will be glad to help.......LOL

I'll never forget the first fender bender I got into when a speeder in a parking lot grazed across the front of my Jeep them tried to say it was all my fault. I didn't even move! DH was in the parking lot with his car. I was relatively still a newlywed and still remember how my dad would react to such a thing. Not good! Anyhow like your husband mine was so sweet and protective.

And the bedding plants had nothing to do with Friday the 13th... as my dog will atest... she will pull up bedding plants and run all over the yard with them any time. So, I just don't plant anything in the backyard any more.

My problem with the bedding plants is not a dog, but a couple of one year-olds. The 2/3/4 year olds and I planted flowers in containers and raised beds like we do every year as part of our outside program. This year we have two one year-olds that delight in pulling the plants right out of the ground and carry them around. The older ones are getting so used to it after getting over being upset everytime it happens. Now they just go get their gloves and shovels and replant. I think the plants will be stunted and not get any bigger, I just hope they last the summer.

As for the 13th, I have 16 minutes to go to end the day and all has been well. My son and grandson are finally home from their 6 day/5 night camping trip and after showers and dinner out at a Chinese restaurant they are playing the wii and still getting along fine (what a shock). I think it is bcause they were not tent buddies until the last two nights, and they each excelled in a different event at camp and have been bragging n each other. DS was the top marksman (is that the right term?) in archery in the troop and grandson was in first place in rifle.

Awww you poor lady! I am sure that your DH will be forgiving and that the dog who if memory serves is still new to your plantings will learn in time to stay away from your garden... or else!!!

Hope tomorrow is a better day!

Sounds like the boys had a great time, Sandy! Glad that they were safe and I'm sure they got a great big hug, whether they wanted one or not! I hope the last 16 minutes or the 13th did nothing to change the goodness of the day! As for me, I was getting ready for both the trip to Nassau on Sunday and the mailbox class and crop at my house tomorrow!
