January FO's

I have mostly been working on three projects that are still WIPs - DH vest, DGD#2 sweater and DD sweater. I have finished six charity hats though and a couple of squares along the way, however, as well as that shawl (NYCO) for me.

Wow! Go you! What on earth do you do to stave off repetitive stress disorder / carpal tunnel?? I would love to be able to work that much, but my elbow won't let me.

Well to be honest I was recovering from tendonitis surgery on my left thumb when I did a lot of this.

I am also now trying to figure out if I have carpal tunnel in my right hand. The hand that holders the crochet hook and just for knitting.

The scarves were very basic just garter stitch so they didn't take me too long to complete. The novelty yarn did the work for me.

Do you mouse with your right hand too? Do you have any numbness in your fingers, pain in your arm at night? I have carpal tunnel in both hands - had surgery on the right hand, and have been mousing with my left since the surgery on the right. I saw the doc and had the nerve conductivity test on the left hand in 2005. Was told I had c.t. in the left now... but am not rushing to have the surgery this time. I wear my wrist brace to bed at night and it helps a lot.

Darlene, that is a very impressive list.

I have a couple of small F.O.'s, but have been mainly working on two large WIP's - my Peacock Feathers shawl (which will take forever), and an oblong shawl in chenille. Both of these items are for me.(giggle) The P.F. shawl is my NYCO.

My little FO's are: Forest green acrylic slippers with suede soles for my daughter Pink/brown felted clog slippers with suede soles for me Camo triple strand acrylic slippers for a friend's son A tiny scarf done on size 0000 needles to put on a name tag for me

WIM I really need a lapghan for evenings reading in front of the fire. Can't decide whether to knit or crochet. The crochet would be faster.

Hi

I mouse with my right hand even with being a lefty. The surgery I just had was on my left thumb.

I am going to have the conductivity test on both hands in March to see if I have carpal tunnel in the right hand and if the nerve damage on my left thumb is temporary or permanent.

I get the numbness in the fingers during the day. He is also concerned that the numbness in my left thumb could be a result of carpal tunnel and the surgery.

Sorry I have not been around much recently. Things are quite busy here and I'm dealing with yet another wicked sore throat (which is lots of fun when you can't take anything for it). Happy Birthday and Anniversary wishes to all I've missed and speedy recoveries and hugs to all who need them.
