I have to agree with Lee, dated, yes, but not all is ugly.

Aha, now that makes sense...but something tells me guests would be way too intimidated by the ubiquity of crochet in that bathroom to come to that conclusion and actually use them! ;)

What a scream!! Thank you! I've just sent this off to my BIL & SIL who gave us Scandinavian knitted scarves in this type of pattern for Christmas last year, after they spent a couple of weeks touring Sweden & Norway.

Now...tell us what "strikkevarer" translates to??

Never thought of this ,,,,, but now i have ,,the uggliest knitting/crochet stuff i saw /see and hope never to see again ....

- people who don`t guague properly , start knitting then , when ending the hem , find it too wide , go on knitting over a part of the hem and fold /sewthe `too big` part into the finnished sweater ,,,

- necks` stiches are cast off then collar stiches are knitted on the cast off stiches. mirjam

Hee Cheryl i found out , as you that my tastes have changed , as well as my abilities. On the one hand some old artifacts i made years ago seem either too simple , or i feel i could make them in a better manner. On the other side i used to pull my nose in disgust about KITCH , now i have a wider understanding about the matter, the materials , the ideas and cultures that eventually produced Kitch , i have more patience to look at it and evaluate it Beyond the mere `Taste` test . Several years ago i started to use unwanted works of mine as a source to add " my own Ready Mades " to my more contemporary works . mirjam

NO , No not in the garbage PLEASE ,,, there is too much garbage in the world. Please Either cut it to be used in another work , or Donate it to somebody who might use it , from another fiber artist [ appliqueres , free embroidery Quilter ???] to any charity that may use it mirjam

Soap covered with cotton crochet ?? might be a great way to scrap off some dry skin parts !!!!:>:>:>:>:>

The latest Hit here is lately , Luffa { Luffa Cylindrica] , sliced into rolls , and Dipped into various Soaps ,, you can scrap and soap at the same time . mirjam

Spring arrived up here! The snow is melting and yesterday evening we had a hare staring at us outside in the road (maybe he was hiding the eggs for children living here, who knows LOL).

Elsje you are ever so right ,,, years ago , when i was a teenagers , my father sent me what was than the Latest rage in Europe , colored and patterned Tights. In those days Fashions and trends were even slower than nowadays , in reaching other countries. Nobody here had colored tights let alone patterned. As i wore them to school , Every teacher ,[and in those days we had mainly Male teachers,] looked under my table and commented about my tights. Since i saw them in the Marion and other mags i Bravely wore them. But still remember the comments many of which were `unkind`. Than years later i was Pregnant with my eldest, Just when the MINI skirts came in. Before gaining weight i made a new skirt which i daringly hemmed a bit over my knees. My husband was horrified and comented about my skirt being shorter than anyone`s else skirt. I put it away and wore it again after i had my daughter. We were invited to a party ,,, Slipped into my skirt and as we entered the party , my husband noted to me that my skirt was Way too long,,,,[ everybody else have shortened their skirts During my pregancy!!!] . mirjam :>:>:>:>:>

Now, I like the sound of that! I have made small circular pieces out of dishcloth cotton which are exfoliants, and love them. But then, I don't use soap on my face at all.

Some of the specialty shops, which sell soaps and lotions and such, sell these too, Mirjam. They look interesting but I find Luffa (or loofah, as it's called here) very hard on the skin.

However, Luffa might be fun to grow.........must see if I can find some seeds!

Aha, Eimear, you & me both, and probably for the same reason; I'm a former redhead of Irish descent, and loofah, as well as a lot of body- scrub-brushes are too hard on my skin. I've been satisfied with a strip of jersey-like knitted cloth that has sisal thread stitched onto it in loops, sort of a super terry cloth. I like it because it has straps that make it easy to scrub my back, whereas a regular terry cloth washcloth has to be held by opposite corners and is too acrobatic for someone my age. ;)
