la vie en rose

Dear All, Just back from 2 months in France where I made a quilt , just a random grid with all the rosy fabrics that the lovely, fabulous Susan sent me when I requested help in finding rose fabric on the net!! I only used two wee scraps of my own plus a biggish bit for the lattice work. Its so simple, but just suits the rustic French house. Still quilting it though. Will post interim pics soon. Sounds Beautiful!! We used to go on "raids" to Laura Ashley when they still gave away swatches... I made a picture quilt for my daughter when she was born..all from swatches! NIce when that happens!

My DH edits a small weekly newspaper for a community that is so upscale that we couldn't afford even to move into a ratty mobile home park on the outskirts. School starts there today, and he had to get up and out early to get photos of the kiddies rushing -- or being dragged -- to the first day. I hope to heaven that I am once again involved in the process next year. State law won't let me return to a district until October 1, one month after my retirement officially starts.
