Sizzix warning.

I tried to cut a piece of chipboard with the sidekick and it wouldn't accept the sandwich. I then tried it on the sizzix with the adapter and as I pressed down on the lever it somehow came back at me, the ball on the end flew off for the first time and the metal lever ripped into the skin of my wrist and took off several layers of skin in 3 inch wide line. It is all raw and purple in one area and I can see my vein bulging out of it and it is still stinging. (when was my last tetanus shot???)

Be very careful.....it could have cut open an artery....

Now back off to try again (calls husband to press down on lever this time)

O My Gosh!!! I hope you are ok! It sure sounds like a nasty injury! I will remember to be careful if I ever try to cut chipboard!

I'm pretty certain that I have sprained my wrist and it now looks like a giant hickey on my wrist. My scraping is over for the day because I am lefthanded and it was my left wrist. My husband couldn't get the chipboard to cut all the way through either. I guess I will limit cutting the chipboard to the larger sizzix dies and forget about cutting it with the sizzlits. I will call tomorrow and see when I had my last shot and if need be I will go to the doctors tomorrow and get one.

I bet that hurts. I probably hurt less when it happened then right after when the air hit it. It seems that the less serious wounds hurt more than a serious one. I hope you heal fast.

Poor thing. I can just imagine you telling the doctor why you need a shot from you scrapping equipment. LOL. Hope you are going better.

Oh my...hope you're doing okay now. That's really scary. I can see the look on my DH's face if that happened to me, but then again, I'm a clutz at everything I do it seems. Take care of your hand.

I am recovering nicely although the wrist is still a little sore and the area is still very sore to the touch. I remembered that I got a tetanus shot about 6 years ago when a metal probe punctured my hand at work so I didn't need to get a shot. I don't see any need to go the doctors, it's not broken and unless it gets infected it will just take time to heal.

I crazy-glued that black ball on the end of the lever, if that hadn't of popped off then the rest of it wouldn't have happened. I am being extremely careful with my sizzix from now on and I just ordered the big shot to eliminate the lever altogether.

Well, you did the right thing ordering the big shot. They look like they are a lot lighter in weight.

Ouch, I cringed when I read the first part, glad to hear it's healing good. If I try anything like that it will be with either the Zip 'e Mate or the Big Shot for sure.

Oh wow there Cat!! That more than sounds nasty!!

It reminds me of the FIRST sidekick that the pads stuck in and I was trying to pry them out with a screwdriver. it slipped, the thing broke and i gouged a big place in the table.

Be careful and try something more safe (sane!!)

(grin :)
