August FO's and a bit of OT News!

As some of you may know, I've been sick for the past couple of months and haven't been able to knit. So my list of FO's is pretty paltry. However one of my WIP is quite impressive, if I may say so myself ;)

FO's (for July and August): two crochet squares

1 mitten

WIP: the other mitten one offspring :)

Hee hee, told you it was impressive! And now you know why I told you all not to worry about the fact that I was sick. You'd think that after all we had been through (14 months and 2 miscarriages) to get a healthy pregnancy I might have been let off easily in the morning sickness department but, of course, life doesn't work that way! I am still on medication to control the pukies but at least I can actually get up for a little while at a time. It makes me sad, though, that picking up the needles makes me want to barf, especially given that knitting (and chatting with all of you!) has been such a comfort to me over the past year.

Anyway, just thought it was time to finally share our news. Turns out I am due just a couple of weeks before Noreen's DD!

Major congratulations, Laura, on your "WIP"! I hope the morning sickness takes leave of you soon so you can get some baby stuff knitted before the big day.

Laura, Congratulations! I hope that the morning sickness stops soon, and I am delighted that you are going to have a wee one to knit for. I am also glad that we were able to help you in any way during the past, and hope that we will continue to do so in the future. Katherine

Laura,

What absolutely fabulous news! Congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope you get over your morning sickness quickly! And if knitting doesn't agree with you, we aren't going to hold that against you. LOL Come back and talk as often as you feel up to it.

Thanks, Jan! I'm sure my mother would be more than happy to pick up the slack if I'm not able to do any knitting :) I think that is the main reason she wanted a grandchild! :)

Thank you, Katherine! Yes, you all brought me lots of comfort since you always bring a smile to my face. And I have been getting my knitting fix here since I haven't been able to do any myself. It is too bad I can't knit right now because even DH is excited to have me knit for our first child (he's always been supportive of my knitting but this is the first time he's actually been excited about it). But my mother will certainly make up for it if I'm not able to get any done!

Thank you, Nora. And thank you for checking in on me last month when you had heard I wasn't feeling well. I'm sorry I had to be so secretive at the time but we were a bit nervous about spilling the beans too early.

LOL! Thanks, Janise! I am glad you won't kick me out because how else will I get my knitting jollies when I'm not able to knit myself? :)

Congratulations! I worked with a woman at one time who was sick for the first three months. When she hit her second trimester all the sickness just disappeared. I hope you are feeling better soon!

Laura that is the most exciting news I have had for awhile - congratulations to you both and I wish you much happiness with the "bundle of joy".

I can sympathise with you re the morning ??? morning , more like all day sickness but I feel after the miscarriages you have had it is the real sign that all is well - it was with me.

Just take care and rest as much as possible - and that means every day ! ( do I hear you saying "yes mum") God Bless Gwen

Thank you Bonnie! Yes, as soon as I hit 11 weeks I started feeling much much better and was able to get out of bed. Unfortunately I'm still nauseous all the time so I'm afraid that this one big improvement is all I'm going to get :(

Yes mum :) The nausea and exhaustion of pregnancy has a way of forcing you to rest so there is no fear that I won't be taking it easy! Anyway, I know I'll need all my strength for the end game and the next 18 or so years after that! Thank you for the congrats!
