regardless of whether someone has received or not, it is really a guess at how many people have signed up and\ resigned up each month...each time you signed up you should have received and sent one foot or 1ft of squares.. nothing to do with the square feet either just the length of all these squares if they were laid in a row,.. cher

Thank you Cher - that should straighten all the queries out - I was just about to explain to everyone but did not like to do so since I felt I would be kind of overriding the famous CNN team !!!

I will be away for a week or so and so just to be in it i will guess 460 ft !!** God Bless Gwen

OK here we go answer is 375 square feet.....I figured that there were about 1500 squares knitted for the two year exchanges. Divide that by 4 to get square feet, you come to 375 square feet. That is with the following people involved more or less.

Katherine and Michelle in NF, Darlene in Toronto; Madelaine in Whitby, once or twice, maybe; Joceline in Toronto as well, also off and on; Gemini at the bottom of Ontario off and on, Norma, also in Ontario; Shelagh D. on the Canadian prairies; Els in BC; Laura also in BC; I am sure that there is a Laura in Kamloops, but I am not sure if the name is correctly spelled, she does come to the Island to visit her family in Sooke.

We take the ferry to Seattle and meet up with Ranie, Judy T and Jennifer, Joan K lives also in the same state, so does Laurie D. Stampot, AKA Monica in Origon; Nora lives in the Eastern part of the US, Noreen in the Tennessee, Susan C in Florida; Slinky AKA Wooly in Texas; Marie and her Cats in Arizona; Anne J on the prairies; Karen H also in the States; Jan smack in the middle close to the Canadian border in the States; Laura in Boston; Helen in Washington DC; Kira in NC: Myka in Alabama; Allaya in California; Dennis and Bart A, somewhere in the mountains, but did they exchange squares....uhhhhhm?? Kim also in the States, Coggy in MI: Donna H. VA; Lynne D in Texas; Hazel S in CA; Dawn and her Grand mother, just joined

Cher in England and Ophelia in Scotland, Christine In England; Ray in England; Martin also in England, did he knit squares or only post pictures for us; Sue in England; Sarah G in England; Sarah B, in England

Hop across the water to the main land, and we have Anna Maria, 0ne exchange with me, in Sweden, and Aud in Norway, and Johanna in Norway....I wonder did she indeed make squares....??; Pirjo in Finland; Ria in Belgium, not sure if she ever made squares either; Barbara Vaughn in Italy: Mirjam, of and on; Gwen Down under :=))

Please take in account that I am one year short of 70 so I am going to miss names, I should not have missed, but I count about 54 people involved in this exchange.

Els

PS And I will make a kumihimo braided necklace, to order on fiber content and colours, for the person who comes in on the bottom.....:=))I

Do you wanna recalculate that Els, as it isn't square feet, but lay them all in a row like a ribbon and measure the length only ... each person should have gotten 1ft each and sent the same(whether they got more, or less is immaterial) so work it out as a afoot per person, and then try and work out how many times they did this to give you the right amount..

mind you, you could be right, as I haven't a flippin clue as I let Nora do the lists and that was that...lol

Cheers....Cher

And how many times have you signed up .if you signed up for six months at a foot sent and a foot received then that is 120ft .. remember it is not just who did, but did they all sign up every month or just now and then....this is so funny to watch it all....lol especially as I've no idea what the figure is..lol. Be nice to convert this to miles and see how far we could get if we could lay them all down and walk on them.

Well Cher, you guys have started something here...LOL I made a list of everyone I thought I knew, who participated (I am sure a missed lots of names....ha, ha) I than put numbers behind them just estimating the squares they may have contributed. I know how many I did and thus how many a received but that is just two people....Never mind as long as we have some fun.

Well at least you know what you are talking about, now if I know as well....wow....we get it in a line.

Nora, You want to know linear feet, I sure it will nearly wrap around the world. I will go and redo my measurements. Be ready with tea and coffee when I come by everyones house with all the squares layed out in a long line. Watch for the bend over lady with her glasses at the tip of her noose mumbling to her self, pencil behind her ear and paper in hand......LOL It is going to be me.....
