Competition Open to All

Else, I hate to disappoint you but you won't even get a mile with those squares. One mile equals 5,280 feet equals 10,560 squares. Over a 23 month period, that would be an average of 459 squares per month and that's way too high! Now if you have lots of time to kill, you could use Google to search out all the partner lists which have posted since the square exchange began. Then you will be able to come up with a really good number and maybe even win the prize.

Els, you forgot me too.

Now I have a question - in my first exchange way back last year, I sent off my squares, but I never received any in return. Do I count the squares that I didn't receive bc the gal who didn't send them had signed up to send them ?

Do I count the two squares that I sent to her, bc they weren't an 'exchange', they turned out to be a 'gift' ?

Bye for now,

Darn it Jan you and Otto are spoiling my fun here I was already down the driveway on my way to see you all....LOL

Otto, with my input thinks it is closer to 1660 linear feet. A little longer than our driveway. Maybe with the odd person coming and goining in our group, it will be a little longer.

You are so right....I am adding you to my list. I stand corrected for the second time. Head hanging. just a little bit.....(still smiling thought)

Sorry, but you're still way out of the ballpark. Since each person does one foot of squares for each exchange, 1660 feet would mean an average of 72 people participating for 23 months. You just might get half way down the driveway. Now, if you still want to go all the way around the world, you will need about 262,944,000 squares! (Can you tell I like math?)

Jan, sorry, Otto is just telling me that I did not write the number down correctly, you may be a wizz, but you can see that I am a dunce as far as math goes. Otto thinks it is 830 linear feet. Keep in mind that I may not have the correct squares as well as not have the correct amound of people either. This is it, I am not going over number andymore, but it will be lots of fun to make a Kumihimo necklace....LOL Oh yeah we do have a very very long drive way.

Well I just thought I'd like to give something back, especially to include those who aren't interested in the 6x6 and yet who have had to put up with the subject line appearing every month. I've got a prize all boxed and waiting, soon as I know who the winner is, that'll winging it's way to them.

Good Luck to you all

LOL google hasn't got them all, cos some applied direct to Nora as they were going away or something and wouldn't be around for the signups....then some late arrivals Nora and I have taken on, so they've not even been on any lists at all...

So it is gonna be pure guesswork really...

hugz.....Cher

Yep count 'em in, as you are trying to calculate how many have been signed up for... even though some ended up as gifts, I had postal probs here for a while and some of mine never got to their destination, I think I resent those out.....hope Idid..

Cheers....Cher

With Jan's help I have gone up and down the driveway, Otto is standing on the sidelines and shaking his head. This morning at breakfast...we thought that we just multiply the 55 people I counted (nevermind how many squares each contributed) and just asume that they all did 48 squares. Two years is two times 12=48x2squaresx 55 people x 6inches : 12 inches....

I am watinging for Jan's Math.......cal eye and most likely stand corrected again. But guys I do keep very good records with money and banking..... no sweat at all.....LOL

I am off to get ready for guessts. Have fun with the numbers.....:=))))

Oh dear, now I'm having visions of Dutch school teachers pulling their hair out and saying "Let's just give sweet Elsje an A for effort."

I just assumed the contest was meant for the people who participated in the actual 6x6 exchange, so I haven't bothered thinking about the numbers at all. Besides.... as soon as I saw that it had to do with math, I just turned around and looked the other way. I am definitely leaving the contest up to everyone else! I wish you all much luck! :o)

Peace! Gemini
