I am knitting!!

I finished my sister's shawl, and haven't blocked it yet. I designed a pattern 'just for her', and will NEVER do another shawl (or anything) in navy blue OR black again, lol! Now I'm starting on one of Jule A's felted bags, the Madelaine. Hugs, Noreen with foot up, LOL!

I am in awe (and envious) that you can design these patterns like you do!! That is so cool, and I'm sure they are even more appreciated by the recipient to know they were made just for her! You are so talented!

Aww, but Karen, it was rectangular and Easy, truly! I just took the elements of two stitch patterns that are in the public domain, and rearranged them to suit me, and voila! Hugs, Noreen

And I write like this:

Noreen, I can not but agree with Karen. I could never do such a designing. When I "design" something, I may change a yarn or something, and keep the mount of stitches and so on as the pattern requires. You, Auntie Noreen...You simply are so talented and lucky lady. Just let your needles fly. Best: Pirjo

I know the feeling. I'm working with some redwood-brown Icelandic laceweight singles (vintage stuff and talk about tender) on a rosewood circular. Stitches? What stitches? I should have been intelligent and just bought an Addi of the correct size, heh.

Yeah but, the yarn happens to be the same damned color as the rosewood

- hence the "what stitches?" comment ;)
