OT: If you could, would you?

Actually, I love living here, in WA. But Alaska is wonderful, as are Italy and Great Britain.

Becki, We are ending the big bus adventure and moving into a house in Corpus Christi, TX. Love it here, cost of living is low, weather nice all the time, except a few days of hurricane. It is hot in the summer but the beach is wonderful.

If you can buy a small travel trailer, this is the time to try new places. You need to stay at least a week anywhere you go to keep the cost down. There are places that are free or real cheap. Our lot has only been $180 a month plus electricity. If you buy a rig right, that's pretty cheap living. That will give you the opportunity to find where you want to go.

Well, we both know where *I* want you to move!!! And in case you didn't know, the "little" house *does* have five bedrooms!

For once, I am where I want to be. I have family, friends, and mountains here in Colorado. Vermont was also beautiful and I loved living there--always thought I might go back, till I came here.

Let the self respect come back---this probably was not about your "worthiness" of having a lease or a job, just not THAT one.It must not be right for you, somehow, to stay at that one. Like you say, the opportunity for change is right there, right now, for you. Whatever you choose/don't choose, I wish you well and much joy! Happy trails to you! Sarajane

A little cottage by the sea - preferably one near an artsy community. Where I could walk to get a coffee in the morning... maybe where I could set up a little booth at their community street market and sell my jewelry and beads... I would want water so I could go kayaking, mountains in the distance would be nice too - hmnn... I have little visisons of cape cod blending in with the pacific northwest and Hanalei on Kaua'i. Does such a place exist?

Hope your changes all fall into place for you Becki!

How about a place thats in the mountains, but only a couple of hours from the ocean? Very low crime rate, and only one hour from two major metropolitan areas? Mild winters (usually), glorious springs and autumns, hot summers? No tornados, wildfires or threats of falling off into the ocean? No major bug problems like palmettos or fireants? Southern hospitality, but Yankee common sense?

Interested?

Colorado Springs or Durango, CO in a heartbeat. Durango especially has that small town feeling, and the scenery is just awe-inspiring.

Maryland... Sounds good, but what about the mosquitos?

Are you a part time real estate agent? LOL

I think my answer would be: sell all you have, buy a nice RV, and go with the flow. You could live absolutely anywhere! :) And move if it got too hot, too firey, too cold, too hurricany... etc.

Pam and Sooz -- those both sound like beautiful suggestions, and I thank you for making my day brighter.

LOL -- The rumor is that it rains all the time in Seattle, does anyone want to counter that for me? I like sunny beach days Becki "In between the moon and you, the angels have a better view of the crumbling difference between wrong and right." -- Counting Crows

Valerie -- I was thinking Florida. I love Charleston, but it is hot and sticky in the summer and there are LOTS of bugs. Becki "In between the moon and you, the angels have a better view of the crumbling difference between wrong and right." -- Counting Crows

Karleen -- that was all I thought about last night before I posted this, while I was cleaning my apartment. Not sure if I would be able to work enough on the road to keep me on the road, if you know what I mean!

Good lord. I had a camper, about 12 years ago and sold it when my dog died. I was seriously thinking of the trailer route. Becki "In between the moon and you, the angels have a better view of the crumbling difference between wrong and right." -- Counting Crows

Quite a few CO fans here, I see. I have only been to Denver and then only to the airport. Becki "In between the moon and you, the angels have a better view of the crumbling difference between wrong and right." -- Counting Crows

Rain?? we actually get less rain than parts of Florida.... But we average 45 inches a year. If you're looking for sun...don't come here...lol. San Diego is beautiful, temperate, and sunny. Monterey, CA isn't a bad choice either...in fact...that's where i really really want to live.

We're up farther north, between Denver and Wyoming. Kinda near Boulder.

Lots of bead supplies here in CO--Ornamental Resources is in Idaho Springs, near Golden. A great bead society too. Several Bead shows every year. A quilt Museum in Golden, lots of mountains....I thought I'd miss the ocean when we moved from California, but we had gotten out of the habit of going to the beach except once or twice a month. Here, I can see the mountains from my backyard, and be in 'em in 10 minutes if desired. Sarajane
