Since you're the one having the problem with the way this group behaves, and you seem to think we're all wrong and you're all right, why not just climb on your broom and fly off on your quest to find a more interesting group?

By the way, I haven't seen much of anything needlework related from you, have I.

Why don't you start a needlework thread if you're concerned about the apparent lack of on-topic posts?

I wasn't referring to anyone in this group, but if the shoe fits....

Correct. There is a group that deals with knitting, it's RCTYarn. We've directed people who want to talk knitting over there, thinking that they would be happier in a group that talks about what they want to talk about. Too bad some of them can't a helpful suggestion as anything other than presumed "shooing off someone not a member of the clique".

Yeah, that's probably the best place for her. I suppose I should put her there myself -- I have a huge rush project to get out today and don't need to waste time on the likes of her.

Ah, ping!, the job has finished downloading. See you guys later.

Excuuse me, guess I was wrong there too! "LOL!!!"

You're all too funny!!! "LOL!!!"

Never said that, I think the broom would probably fit you better tho and thank you, I do belong to other groups.

Yep, too busy defending myself !

I didn't see anyone accuse you of starting it again. I did see someone comment on the fact that you have contributed to the length of it. Those are two different things, IMO. But I guess now you understand how some threads around here get to be so long, eh?

Thanks again Mirjam! I guess the important word in that sentence is "here", but then some knitting questions are discussed here, like the 'knitting in the round' thread and others are referred elsewhere. (?)

Note that I said AROUND HERE (meaning RCTN), not in some book.

Actually, while someone may offer advice, they generally ARE referred to RCTY for more information.

At the risk of being repetitive, if you would like to increase the volume of on-topic posts, why don't *you* start a needlework thread instead of simply complaining about the dearth of them?

Too true. Posts here follow the general way a bunch of real life stitchers do. When I stitch at my Guild we sit around chatting about kids, parents, great looking men, whatever. When someone says, I am trying to do this and having problems, all conversation ceases while we attend to the question at hand. Then the off topic starts again, it's one of the things we do well. Women have done this for aeons.

Translated to usenet, that's basically what happens here. If you want discussion on needlework, start a thread as others have told you and you will get a myriad of answers from people with all sorts of experience in all sorts of needlework disciplines. Also, if you have a needlework problem, many will man the pumps trying to solve it for you.

Then the Off Topic will resume. Wading in here yelling at all concerned, does not work. Why go after Brat ? She is a very busy woman who is not here every day posting.

Didn't you notice that Gillian, who responded, told her that her experience as a knitter was very limited ? No ? My how strange!
