Vest of Many Stitches completed!

Hi Jan, I made copies of all the charts, so I didn't have to keep the book on my lap, but not enlargements. Since I use (increasingly strong) glasses for reading and knitting it wasn't too bad.

Hi Laura, it took a couple of months I think, maybe a bit longer, but I've been working on other things too.

I'm sure that even if it took years, it would have been well worth the wait - it is beautiful!

Sue this is really wonderful - I love vests or sleeveless pullovers of any sort as that is the full extent of my "winter" wardrobe, but this one is really amazing - the combination of all the different stitches if just great. I also like the way the rib was done on the "points" Congratulations God Bless gwen

Yes, it was reallly gorgeoous. It is amazing how perfect the vest itself came out, given such a complication of different stitches. I'm sure if I tried it, it would have bulges and indentations and be all askew. Great job. Kira

Thanks Gwen, that ribbing on the front points was not so bad, the pattern gave very precise instructions, which I followed to the letter, and it all worked out okay.

Hi Maggie, yes, I'd stared at it too for a fair while, but couldn't resist the challenge! I used a DK weight 60% wool, 40% acrylic yarn called Patons Greta. I used 4mm needles and it took a bit over two months.

Hi Kira, thanks, but I don't see why it shouldn't come out fine for you, after all I just followed the instructions! I think the designer must have given it some thought in order to avoid too many distortions. I did substitute an alternative pattern in one place though.
