OT: Innocent?

I have never lied to you or about you, but you continue to accuse me of such without ever providing any proof. It is you who are the liar.

You don't read English very well, do you?

Hear! Hear! Fred. I have many Muslim friends and they are just like me - I realize rctn might consider that a 'bad' thing, but I mean it in the context that they just go about their business and lives, not plotting to blow up people, just living and wanting the best for their children.

We have 'born again Christians' in our midst who are every bit as fanatical as Muslims that tread the fanatical path, both are dangerous and it is not what they are, Muslim, Christian, Jewish, but whom they are, fanatics or day to day ordinary persons.

Emerald normally I would agree but at the moment I think one has to remember that the police are jumpy and like running from a bear, it's a bad thing to do. The police are hearing in one ear, 'catch the terrorists' and in the other they hear criticism 'why didn't they shoot, for god's sake, the man started running?' and they have to make a split second decision, this time it appears it was wrong.

I haven't walked in their shoes and frankly, wouldn't care to.

Yes, they accepted you and they accepted me, and they accepted many others and I feel you have a very narrow view (that would be putting it politely for once) of what you consider should be accepted of Muslim Canadians. I have never been asked, or expected, to relinquish my Scottish heritage/feelings.

You omit mentioning, of course, he was behaving suspiciously during a tense period when police and other law enforcers were pushed to the limit, on edge, and having to second guess him.

I understand he had been working in the UK long enough to have outstayed his work permit, as an electrician. Ergo, he must have had enough comprehension of English to understand "POLICE - DON'T MOVE"

Of course, if he was a totally innocent, law abiding citizen, he would have left the UK as his permit to work ran out - then his death would never have happened anyway.

Well I don't know, it didn't seem to bother them denying that their priests buggered little boys.

Thankfully, Enoch Powell (Any Bowel as my friends and I called him) is long dead.

These sentiments do not carry much weight because you do not put your name behind them. I realize I use Lucretia, but regulars here know exactly whom I am.

I can see what you are saying Lucille, but I am not so sure she would want to lie in peace! I expect she is somewhat vexed that attention has not been on her for a couple of years now.
