I congratulate you all for finishing your Group project. I thank many of you who have enriched my vocubulary with nice words regarding a group project, while others used terms i didn`t know grown ups used. I was curious to see how the group dynamics developed while you all were at it. I wish you all that the recievers will feel that it indeed was your contribution to their great loss. mirjam
Careful Victoria ,, if you go on with these swearing , might it not change you into something ugly in your next life ???? mirjam Who just saw a wonderful "Tibetan exhibition` in which there were various Budha, one with 4 x 8 arms ....
I would never expect any apology (excuse) from that one - she's vile from the inside out and most people are seeing thru her phoniness these days. She's only hurting herself with all her nastiness and lies - pity her Mirjam, just pity her.

Why - thank you Miss Victoria - I can see you're having another nice day.
Sharon (N.B.)
That`s a wee bit harsh - if, possibly, understandable. I know that Vic can be one of the kindest hearted people. I also know that prolonged suffering and/or medication etc., can make some people terribly depressed and angry at life in general and hit out, sometimes most unreasonably. A few weeks in any hospital ward will show you that!
Personally I think we should all forget it and look forward to happier times.
As Dianne said - "Nuff said!"
Pat P
I don't think I'm harsh at all - that's how I see her. Her sickness, if there actually is one, is no excuse for her behaviour. I have spent many a time in hospital wards so I know quite a lot about suffering and depression - I don't think I ever lashed out at anyone because my life was being adversely affected - I did what had to be done and got on with it. I'm not super-human by any means, but I am kind to those who deserve it.
Sharon (N.B.)
You`re one of the lucky ones, like me - my longish spells in hospital showed me that people are affected in VERY different ways by adversity, so you can`t really say how any one person SHOULD react. All I said was that SOME people are unfortunate enough to have that reaction. They can`t help it. I`m very lucky in being able to see humour in most adverse situations (to the huge annoyance of some! LOL!), some moan and wail, some lash out, some suffer in silence. I don`t "do" silence, so I look for any possible humour in things.
Why should you insinuate that Victoria`s illness isn`t genuine? Do you assume that about all the other sob stories and requests for prayers and sympathy we regularly get on here? Many of us have traumas in our lives - (Heaven alone knows that I`ve had enough) but don`t broadcast them, but that doesn`t make the rest any the less genuine. Some people find it easier to bare their souls to complete strangers. Some, like you and I, prefer to just get on with it, or at the very most, discuss it with close friends - not a newsgroup.

Perhaps Sharon was making the same sort of statement I did. We really have no way of knowing if the things people tell us are true or false or maybe basically true with a lot of embellishment. The way I look at it, if medications or health problems or some other situation turn you into a hateful harpy AND people have told you this numerous times, then it's your responsibility to either do something about it (if something can actually be done) --OR-- don't put yourself in situations where you are given ample opportunity to be a hateful harpy. Regardless of why Victoria seems to be so miserable of late, she generates and instigates an unbelievable amount of hatefulness from people who are usually *relatively* calm. Pat, I don't think you and I fit into that group (LOL) but most of the others who have posted responses to the Angel threads do. What upsets me is that, if Victoria is actually as ill as she has said, I think the majority of us would be more sympathetic if she just wasn't so god awful nasty most of the time. I know she says she doesn't need our sympathy but being able to post to the group (if you so desire) when things are really and truly horrid is a wonderful outlet and very cathartic. Besides, there is always at least one or two others who have either suffered the same type of situation or has a close family member or friend who has. All of that emotional help, support and understanding is not there for Victoria because she has been so mean of late. THAT is the true detriment of this whole sad debacle :-(. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

And why Pat can't you see the forest for the trees? Time and again V has posted nothing but nastiness - for really no reason. People can disagree with one another but to call them liars, bigmouths (and pray tell, what did I say to deserve that?) and other vile things is just downright mean and childish. So many people have worked on this project with their whole heart, but V has made it into something that a lot of people probably just want to get finished and rid of (at least that's what I'm thinking). More power to the people who are carrying this project to the end - I think I would've given up on it by now. If her mean posts are talked about time and again and you know she's not missing a thing, you'd think it would sink in to her that her meds/whatever are making her a not very nice person and that she would refrain from posting till she felt better. That excuse has been going on far too long.

This discussion is one of those vicious circles - we`ll never know the full truth - but I just feel that the nastiness is part of the illness - otherwise, as you well know, I`d be jumping all over her too! As it is, I give her the benefit of the doubt ;-))
Maybe that particular Angel is, as was Lucifer, really the Devil! She/It`s certainly raised some very unangelic Hell! I hope everything`s going on smoothly now - I bet you`ll be glad to see the back of her!

"Sharon"
That`s the whole point, Sharon - I CAN see the wood for the trees - and just feel (rightly or wrongly) that a lot of others can`t! OK, but we`re all guilty of thinking that we`re the only one in step, at times!
I often find that if you take the trouble to TALK to people individually (by email for instance) instead of yelling at or about them on a newsgroup, you find that things are often a lot different to what you think. And yes, Victoria should think about that too, of course.

Okay Pat - you live in your little world ... and I'll live in mine. Nuff said???
Sharon (N.B.) - who is watching the fireworks celebrating Canada Day from her upstairs window - great view - great country!!! Woooooohoooooo
Well, all I can say is that , IMNSHO, V has been contentious from the very first time I remember her posting to the group -- I think sometime in 1999. I distinctly remember her first posts from years ago. I didn't recognize her name and I posted to the group that it looked like we had another troll harassing us. V responded by saying she had been posting to the group since it's very beginning but I certainly didn't remember her (I have been reading RCTN since 1997) and neither did anyone else. Be that as it may, her posts (again IMNSHO) were just about always argumentative and rude. Then she would seem to change overnight and be calm and helpful and friendly for a little while. For whatever reason, her posts have seemed to be either very mean (more often than not) or very nice -- no in between. THAT is why I don't give her "the benefit of the doubt" any longer. The nastiness had always been there and it has now escalated so that it seems that when she posts, it's to argue about something. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

I used to serve as a hospice volunteer, and one of the things we were taught in training, and I saw time and again, is that people die as they have lived, only multiplied.
Harsh, mean people die spouting ugliness.
Kind, gentle people die sweetly, kindly, no matter what their suffering.

Gosh Jere, I know you were trained that way - but I can quote two different instances where this just wasn't so ... now maybe it's because they were in a hospice, but when my Father died, he was home sitting on the couch, all dressed in his freshly ironed slacks and shirts and tie, retired for 8 yrs. - my daughter always walked there from school till I picked her up after work - she always complained that Grampy asked too many questions during Days of Our Lives - her favourite show at that time (a good 30 yrs. ago) . When I picked her up this particular day, she said Grampy started complaining so she said 'Grampy you know this is my favourite show - please listen' .... he went to sleep, never to return. We didn't know till my Mother called and we had to drive back ... my Father was a very harsh man, selfish really, and he went out so gently that it was a calming feeling. Now a dear friend who was always calm but hyper died practically cursing everyone he'd ever known - he wouldn't even allow friends to visit. Most of his friends just worked thru his wife getting her to tell him so and so was thinking of him, etc. etc. - but he would not allow anyone to visit - just wanted to rant and spew. I think we've learned thru this group that people deal with circumstances differently, but when the nastiness comes thru time and again, someone has to put a stop to it - or at least try. This group is so helpful at any time - you can ask and receive help at a moment's notice - that's what it should be all about - friends exchanging information. Oh well, that's my rant for the night. :-)) Sorry if I went on too long.
